Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) constitute a legally binding agreement between you (“User,” “you,” or “your”) and Luxury Labs (“Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) governing your access to and use of the Kontaria mobile application, website, and related services (collectively, the “Service”).
By creating an account, downloading the app, or otherwise accessing the Service, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the Service.
You must be at least 13 years old to use Kontaria. If you are between 13 and 18 years old, you must have the consent of a parent or legal guardian to use the Service.
2. Account Registration and Responsibilities
To use Kontaria, you must create an account by providing a valid email address and password, or by signing in through Google OAuth. You agree to:
- Provide accurate, current, and complete registration information
- Maintain and promptly update your account information to keep it accurate and complete
- Maintain the security and confidentiality of your login credentials
- Not share your account credentials with any third party
- Immediately notify us of any unauthorized use of your account
- Accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that contain false or misleading information, or that violate these Terms.
3. Service Description
Kontaria is an AI-powered personal finance management application that enables you to:
- Record expenses and income through a conversational chat interface using text messages
- Upload receipt images for automatic data extraction and categorization
- Send voice notes describing transactions for automatic processing
- View analytics and dashboards summarizing your financial activity
- Customize your experience with language, currency, and AI tone preferences
- Receive push notifications about your financial activity (if enabled)
The Service is available on iOS and Android mobile devices, and through our website at kontaria.com. The Service is provided in nine languages: English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, and Chinese.
4. Subscription Plans
Kontaria offers the following plans:
4.1 Free Plan
- 60 AI interactions per month (text, image, and voice processing)
- Full access to core features (chat, dashboard, settings)
- Advertisements displayed via Google AdMob
- Quota resets on the first day of each calendar month
4.2 Pro Plan
- Unlimited AI interactions
- Ad-free experience
- Priority support
- Access to premium features as they are released

Prices are displayed in US Dollars and may vary by region. Actual prices charged may differ based on your local currency and applicable taxes, as determined by the payment platform (Apple App Store, Google Play, or Stripe).
5. Billing, Payment, and Cancellation
5.1 Payment Processing
Payments for Pro subscriptions are processed through the following platforms depending on how you access the Service:
- iOS: Apple App Store In-App Purchase
- Android: Google Play Billing
- Web: Stripe
Subscription management is coordinated through RevenueCat to ensure your subscription status is synchronized across all platforms.
5.2 Automatic Renewal
Monthly and annual subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date. You will be charged the applicable subscription fee at the beginning of each renewal period.
5.3 Cancellation
You may cancel your subscription at any time:
- iOS: Through your Apple ID subscription settings
- Android: Through Google Play subscription settings
- Web: Through the Kontaria app settings or by contacting support
Upon cancellation, you will retain access to Pro features until the end of your current billing period. After that, your account will revert to the Free plan. No partial refunds are provided for unused portions of a billing period.
5.4 Refunds
Refund policies are governed by the platform through which you made the purchase:
- App Store purchases: Subject to Apple's refund policy
- Google Play purchases: Subject to Google Play's refund policy
- Stripe purchases: Contact us at support@kontaria.com within 14 days of purchase for a full refund.
5.5 Lifetime Plan
The Lifetime plan grants you access to Pro features for the duration of the Service's operation. “Lifetime” refers to the lifetime of the product, not the lifetime of the purchaser. If the Service is discontinued, lifetime plan holders will receive at least 12 months' advance notice.
6. In-App Purchases and Platform Rules
When you make purchases through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, those purchases are subject to the respective platform's terms and conditions:
In the event of any conflict between these Terms and the applicable platform's terms regarding in-app purchases, the platform's terms shall prevail for matters related to billing and refunds.
7. Acceptable Use Policy
You agree to use Kontaria only for its intended purpose of personal financial management. You shall not:
- Use the Service for any illegal purpose or in violation of any applicable law or regulation
- Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent financial information with the intent to deceive
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts or data
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service
- Use automated means (bots, scrapers, scripts) to access or interact with the Service
- Circumvent or attempt to circumvent rate limits, quota restrictions, or other usage controls
- Use the AI chat to generate content unrelated to personal finance management
- Upload malicious files, viruses, or harmful content through the receipt or audio upload features
- Resell, redistribute, or commercially exploit the Service or any part thereof
- Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service
- Use the Service in any manner that could damage, disable, or overburden our infrastructure
Violation of this Acceptable Use Policy may result in immediate suspension or termination of your account without notice or refund.
8. AI Accuracy Disclaimer
Important: Kontaria uses artificial intelligence to process and categorize your financial data. While we strive for accuracy, AI processing is inherently imperfect and may produce errors. Specifically:
- Text processing: The AI may misinterpret amounts, categories, dates, or descriptions from your text messages.
- Receipt scanning: The AI may fail to accurately read or extract data from receipt images due to image quality, formatting, or language.
- Voice notes: Speech recognition may produce incorrect transcriptions, especially in noisy environments or with accents.
- Categorization: Automatic category assignments may not always match your intended classification.
You are solely responsible for reviewing and verifying all AI-processed transactions for accuracy. Kontaria is not a substitute for professional financial advice, accounting, or tax preparation services. We strongly recommend that you verify all transaction data before relying on it for financial decisions.
Luxury Labs shall not be held liable for any financial losses, incorrect tax filings, or other damages resulting from inaccurate AI-processed data.
9. Intellectual Property
9.1 Our Intellectual Property
The Service, including but not limited to its software, design, graphics, logos (including the Kontaria logo and brand identity), text, user interface, and all related intellectual property, is owned by Luxury Labs and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the Service without our prior written consent.
9.2 Your Content
You retain ownership of all content you submit to the Service, including text messages, receipt images, voice recordings, and transaction data (“Your Content”). By using the Service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to process, store, and display Your Content solely for the purpose of providing you with the Service.
We do not claim ownership of Your Content and will not use it for purposes other than providing the Service, except in anonymized and aggregated form for service improvement and analytics.
9.3 Feedback
If you provide us with feedback, suggestions, or ideas regarding the Service, you grant us an unrestricted, irrevocable, perpetual license to use such feedback for any purpose without compensation or attribution.
10. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW:
- THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, STATUTORY, OR OTHERWISE, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
- LUXURY LABS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.
- OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATED TO THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (B) $50.00 USD.
- WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE, OR THAT ANY DEFECTS WILL BE CORRECTED.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain warranties or liability. In such jurisdictions, our liability shall be limited to the fullest extent permitted by law.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Luxury Labs, its officers, directors, employees, agents, and affiliates from and against any and all claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to:
- Your use of the Service
- Your violation of these Terms
- Your violation of any rights of a third party
- Any content you submit to the Service
12. Service Availability and Modifications
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time, with or without notice. We will make reasonable efforts to provide advance notice of material changes.
We do not guarantee continuous, uninterrupted access to the Service. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond our control. We shall not be liable for any loss or inconvenience caused by service interruptions.
13. Termination
13.1 Termination by You
You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us at support@kontaria.com or through the account deletion option in the app settings. Upon termination, your data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
13.2 Termination by Us
We may suspend or terminate your account immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including but not limited to:
- Violation of these Terms or the Acceptable Use Policy
- Fraudulent or illegal activity
- Non-payment of applicable fees
- Extended period of inactivity (12 months or more)
- Request by law enforcement or government authorities
13.3 Effect of Termination
Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. We may delete your account data within 30 days of termination. Any provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination shall survive, including but not limited to intellectual property provisions, limitation of liability, indemnification, and governing law.
14. Dispute Resolution
Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation between the parties. If the dispute cannot be resolved within 30 days of written notice, either party may pursue binding arbitration or file a claim in the courts specified in Section 15.
You agree that any dispute resolution proceedings will be conducted on an individual basis and not as a class, consolidated, or representative action. You waive any right to participate in a class action lawsuit or class-wide arbitration against Luxury Labs.
15. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which Luxury Labs is established, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
Any legal action or proceeding arising under these Terms shall be brought exclusively in the courts located in such jurisdiction, and you consent to personal jurisdiction and venue therein.
16. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, such provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid and enforceable, or if modification is not possible, it shall be severed from these Terms. The remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
17. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Luxury Labs regarding the use of the Service and supersede all prior agreements, understandings, and communications, whether written or oral.
Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms shall not be deemed a waiver of such right or provision.
18. Changes to These Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. When we make material changes, we will:
- Update the “Effective Date” at the top of this page
- Notify you via email or in-app notification at least 30 days before material changes take effect
- Provide a summary of the key changes
Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of the revised Terms constitutes your acceptance of the changes. If you do not agree with the revised Terms, you must stop using the Service and delete your account.
